Strategic Partners Marketing came to life in April 2015 with the vision of providing access to marketing knowledge, resources, and support to small- and medium-sized local businesses. After working in sales, TV advertising, and digital marketing, founder, Amber Swenor, saw the same challenges for many business owners: lack of time, resources, and knowledge about which marketing strategies to implement and how. She founded SPM with the goal of helping these businesses to be more strategic in their approach to marketing, and therefore, more successful.
Our mission is for IMPACT, as supported by our core values for Intrapreneurship, Motivation, Passion, Accountability, Caring, and Thinking and Acting Strategically. We engage these values to serve purpose-driven businesses like you, as we help you reach your goals. Meet the Team
Founder & Brand Strategist
As the Founder, Brand Strategist, and resident rock star, Amber works with clients to evaluate their brand, understand their goals, and develop a strategy that will deliver the results they seek. Amber’s experience spans a lifetime of curiosity and entrepreneurial pursuits, including experience in sales, digital marketing, media, strategic partnership development, and event management experience. Ask her any marketing-related question, and if she doesn’t have the answer, she’ll find it.
Amber enjoys writing and educating fellow entrepreneurs and has been honored to be featured on Madison Noteworthy, Huffington Post, Drum Up, In Business, and Forbes. She regularly provides upbeat and actionable marketing-related workshops and talks and is available for hire for topics related to Building your Brand on a Budget, Marketing to Millennials, and on Strategies to Maximize Your Partnerships. Amber has recently spoken at DisruptHR Milwaukee, Madison Non-Profit Day, Dane Buy Local, and the Madison Chapter of Women Council of Realtors and has upcoming engagements with DreamBank, DisruptHR Madison, and the BRAVA Thrive Conference.
Amber was honored as a 2017 Brava Magazine Woman to Watch, a 2017 In Business Magazine 40 under 40, and a 2017 ATHENA Young Professional finalist. She’s an active member of Doyenne and Dane Buy Local, and serves as a board member for the Monona East Side Business Alliance (MESBA). She also provided marketing leadership for the inaugural Between the Waves Madison Music Festival & Conference.
Amber created Impact Academy as a way to serve fellow entrepreneurs with business coaching, marketing consulting, and online content to help them rock their brands. Her Impact Academy signature course, Impact Incubator, launched in May 2019 and is now live!
Director of Operations and Marketing
Jess is a Systems & Branding Expert, with a diverse background in traditional and digital marketing and media. She’s worked with some of the biggest names in the online space and supported them in scaling to 7 figures and beyond. Her strengths include personal and business branding, funnel building and optimization, design, content creation and copywriting, social media management, organic marketing, and sales.
With a BS in Communications Planning & Evaluation from Cornell University and an EdM from SUNY at Buffalo, Jess has developed an approach that’s equally creative and strategic. She’s passionate about building systems that create maximum efficiency and allow entrepreneurs to spend more time in their zone of genius.
She’s at home in Western New York with her husband, two daughters, and her lovable mutt.
Brand Strategist & Operations Manager
Madeline is a strategic thinker who offers a passion for creativity, innovation and desire to learn. With valuable experience in Consultative Sales, Public Relations, and Social Media, Madeline has partnered with a wide array of brands ranging from locally owned organizations to Fortune 500 Consumer Companies. Madeline excels at fostering quality relationships and translating big picture goals into tangible results for her clients.
When Madeline isn’t working you can find her spending quality time with her fur baby Rosie, traveling the country to see her favorite bands, or geeking out over Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings.
Brand Strategist Account Manager
Although new to our team, Essie is an experienced marketing
account manager who has worked with a variety of business types and sizes. With a wide background that includes healthcare, agriculture, education, performing arts, events, and traditional and digital marketing, she brings a unique, solutions-oriented approach to every project she manages. Essie’s favorite thing about her job is combining the art of design and the science of data to creatively solve problems. Her clients praise her ability to plan and execute both large and small projects consistently and the way she breaks things down
and explains them.
Outside of work, Essie enjoys exploring parks and restaurants with
her dog Lucille, spinning tunes as an event DJ, escape rooms, and cooking.
A UW-Madison alumna, Sara is a savvy marketing professional with a passion for uncovering the right blend of science and art in the form of data-driven strategies and thought-provoking creativity. Her career spans businesses of all sizes in a variety of industries, including CPG, e-commerce, healthcare, finance and insurance, transportation and logistics, SaaS, and non-profit. Sara’s primary expertise includes brand development, strategic planning, content marketing, social media, and media relations. Sara comes to us from a Fortune 100 financial company and before that, spent half of her career to date at an AdAge-award-winning marketing agency.
Outside of work, Sara fuels her creative curiosity through music, cooking, baking, and making. You can also find her devouring podcasts and books on personal and professional growth, singing along at live shows, and exploring the menu at local restaurants. Additionally, she enjoys staying active, both solo and with her two little boys and rescue blue heeler pup.
Account Coordinator & Digital Marketing Specialist
Hannah specializes in content marketing and digital advertising, and in addition to being an account coordinator with SPM, is our rockstar Digital Marketing Specialist. At SPM, Hannah writes social media content, blog posts, email marketing pieces, press releases, and develops and manages Facebook, Google Ads, and LinkedIn campaigns for our clients. Before joining SPM in September 2017, Hannah was Account Executive at Wolf Pack Relations, which is part of the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno. In this position, she pitched Wolf Pack Relations’ public relations services to on-campus organizations and small organizations in the Reno community, and she was also responsible for delegating work to and overseeing the work of fellow team members. Since moving from Nevada in August 2017, she has been on a mission to find the very best cheese curd in the Madison area.
Content Marketing Specialist
Maddie is a Content Artist who has a passion for heart-filled, impact-lead content design. At Strategic Partners, Maddie creates graphics and copy for social media, composes blog posts and emails, and specializes in Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn management. She believes in the power of optimizing the mindset behind “the art of content creation” and excels in creating an aesthetic that feels authentic and unique to you. Since moving to the US in 2013, Maddie has worked in content creation across industries such as politics, real estate, and crossword compilation.
When she’s not working on content professionally, you’ll find Maddie working on her mental health awareness blog and podcast, playing the piano, and watching any sci-fi series she can get her hands on.
Finance Manager & Assistant Media Buyer
After a 10+ year career in mechanical design and engineering, Brandon found his way into finance and media buying, transferring problem solving and analytical skills from engineering into business. When he is not rocking spreadsheets, you’ll find him rocking on his guitar, restoring his car, or fishing.
Mara is a recent graduate from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. With previous experience in marketing and brand strategy, Mara is extremely excited to be a marketing assistant on the SPM team to learn more about strategic development for the many different clients and industries SPM works with.
In her free time, she loves to travel to new places, scope out live music concerts, and experiment with baking new recipes. She’s also looking forward to having more time to explore different hobbies and officially begin ‘adulting’ in this post-graduation period.
Digital Marketing Assistant
As Digital Marketing Assistant, Lindsay spends her time helping manage digital ad accounts, improving SEO, and maintaining websites. With a growth mindset, Lindsay strives to innovate by learning new skills and staying up to date with marketing trends and best practices. Lindsay graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2020 and boasts a range of digital marketing experience, including graphic design, WordPress website creation, and SEO.
Besides digital marketing, Lindsay has a passion for all things chocolate, winning at board games, and re-watching The Office.
Ashley is a rare gem who can rock some rad design + mad technical web development skill. She’s been designing and building websites for 13+ years, including a site that grew to become a million-dollar eCommerce business within 3 years. Ashley brings a wealth of knowledge about web design and SEO to the SPM team! She particularly enjoys custom WordPress design and eCommerce projects.
